Swimming is for Life

What about when you get older?

We have proof that swimming is an amazing activity for those who are 5, 50 or 90. How do we know?

Have you ever heard of Rita Simonton?

She’s the Michael Phelps of master age group swimming. She’s 92 and she can probably outswim you and me.

She narrates a great video on her Growing Bolder website.

She’s the fastest distance swimmer in United States history over the age of 90, breaking the former record by four full minutes.

Rita is an inspiration and an amazing swimmer. But Rita’s love for swimming and lifelong loyalty to it could be any of us who loves to be in the water and stay active.

After all, swimming is fun if you’re 5, but it’s also fun at 92 because simply being in the water sort of levels the playing field so that all ages can be successful swimmers. Read more about swimming for life.
