Little Otter Swim School Selected as One of Charlotte’s Best Places to Work

Charlotte Business Journal List Recognizes Area Companies with Outstanding Benefits and Culture for Employees

CHARLOTTE, NC – December 3, 2013 – Little Otter Swim School celebrated as co-owner John Kirk walked the “runway” to accept Little Otter Swim School’s award as one of the Charlotte area’s Best Places to Work. Ranking eleventh in their first inclusion in the impressive list, Little Otter shared some of its unique employee benefits and learned some of the benefits that business peers offer.

Little Otter Swim School has provided swim classes for youngsters from its Matthews, NC location for almost a decade and will soon be providing the same quality and selection of classes from a brand new facility in Huntersville, NC beginning in January of 2014.

“Being recognized for the way we treat our employees is exciting. We love to see our people thrive and enjoy working with us to educate children on water safety and swimming and hope that we can use what we learn from others in continuously improving our workplace,” notes John Kirk, co-owner of Little Otter Swim School. ”We pride ourselves on being leaders in workplace culture excellence in our industry.”

This year’s results illustrate that Charlotte’s employers showed an extraordinary workplace engagement rating – higher than any other market in the U.S. The Charlotte Business Journal’s 2013 Best Places to Work ranking were determined by aggregating the results of detailed employee surveys by Quantam Workplace, an independent human-resources survey company. Each survey question was assigned a point value, which was used in determining each company’s final score.
